In celebration of National Dog Day, I had an impromptu photoshoot with James. We were laying in bed while I edited photos and he pressed his little head against the pillow and a photo on my phone didn’t do the cuteness justice! I love this sweet little pup.
Rescue a Cavalier!
I volunteer as a foster for Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with Cavalier Rescue USA and I love this group of passionate, caring people who step in to help these sweet babies whether they’re puppy mill rescues or owner surrendered–typically with many medical issues. And I thought I’d use this day to share a quick post about this group and that they’re are many wonderful cavvies who need homes through the rescue group! Learn more about donating, fostering and adopting them here!
I didn’t rescue James–it was hard to rescue at the time when I got James since I didn’t have any pet ownership experience on my own yet and rescue dogs may require more experience, patience and understanding.
I found James through a woman who worked as a therapist out of her home and she owned James’ momma and pop–I met them both and they were the sweetest, well cared for pets. It was important to me to find a breed that fit my lifestyle and personality, which a Cavalier King Charles perfectly fits–and find the right breeder. I know my next pups will be adopted cavs, but it’s smart to do as much research as possible when finding the right breed and breeder if that’s the right path for you!
