My friends with children often tote cool backpacks in place of diaper bags these days and I’m childless, but I still appreciate the functionality of a backpack! Plus, the Kylie Jenners and Bella Hadids of the world have been spotted sporting mini versions, much like the 90s trend I remember.
So I’m ready to be hip AND practical with a leather version like this Leacarve backpack, but I personally prefer a larger size to store the contents of my life which stretch as large as my 17 inch laptop to as small as my 80 lipsticks I take everywhere.
Taking Practical to a New Level
I’ve been wearing easy, breezy materials like linen with overalls simplifying my dressing, the most comfortable Birkenstocks, a crop top I’ve had for probably close to 10 years, an Apple Watch that helps me stay connected to the world (although it ain’t the cutest) and a backpack to store so much stuff and free my hands. I bet at this rate, I’ll be living full time in my motor home and even more granola than ever in a year or less.
I think today’s take on backpacks are more chic and practical than ever with the varying sizes, shapes and colors available, making it great for moms, young cool people and spinsters like me. What are your thoughts on the backpack?
Incorporating Playfulness
This is probably one of my favorite looks this year, it’s so chill, neutral and so me, but I added a little more fun with the bright lipstick and fun earrings! I recently made a trip to Ann Arbor to check out Vosenna, an indie beauty store where all the items are indie brands (independently owned, non-conglomerate makers and brands), made in the USA, and not tested on animals–and the majority of items are handcrafted.
I picked out this bright lipstick from the Girlactik line she carries (cruetly free, of course) and since I tend to be neutral in my dressing, it made sense to get a fun lip color! I’m also wearing the Brija eye shadow in crystal altar, a light warm shimmer that I also used as my highlighter. Made me feel fancy in my linen overalls. You can shop her pieces on social, just shoot her a message and she can process your order in person, online or by phone!

I’ve never actually gotten tired of backpacks, I’ve been using them frequently in my looks these few years! 🙂 Also, I think I need to get myself a pair of Birkenstock sandals now. They’re so cute!

I actually just bought a black leather backpack at Kate Spade last month and wasn’t sure I’d end up keeping it. Fast forward a month and its now the only purse I use. Perfect for hands free and the chaos that is my life (no kids for me either haha).
They’re also perfect for traveling so I’m excited to use mine on my next trip.
