The second day in Marquette started early with a jaunt over to Mount Marquette, a scenic overlook that appears as if I’m on the edge of a mountain with incredible views of the coastline and town of Marquette.
Matt and I easily survived our first trip together and this first photo celebrates the trek!
Scenic Views in Marquette
If you’re interested in skipping the hike and go straight to a great view, I recommend Mount Marquette. It’s a quick drive up a little rough terrain and then park right next to the overlook–literally steps away and it’s quiet!
To check out an ancient rock formation, Black Rocks, visit Presque Isle. When it’s warm, you can dive into the water or right now, stand on the rocks and take in the views of Lake Superior.
If your idea of fun is a short hike, visit Sugarloaf Mountain and visit the observation decks for amazing views. This is on my list I’ve yet to do!
