2024 brought me many new skincare, beauty and fragrance that I use day to day, and of course, a few that didn’t measure up for me. Read on for my picks and anti-picks from viral products in 2024:
Viral Products I Love
I didn’t want to love Rhode‘s pocket blush or the glazing milk and barrier butter, but here we are. I have four of the pocket blush colors because I can’t get enough of the hues, the formula and blendability.
I also bought a few of the seasonal packages like the cinnamon roll gloss that came with a mini size of the barrier butter and that product is so thick but absorbs so well in my skin and it’s now cemented permanently into my nighttime skincare routine. The glazing milk I just got in the mail and it’s a thicker formula which I also love and it absorbs well too and my dry skin drinks it up.
I was skeptical of the Dior Skin Perfect Foundation Stick since I wasn’t sure if it would work on my dry skin like many other foundation sticks have failed me before. But this is an easy, blendable application. I don’t apply the stick directly to my skin, rather I use a foundation brush that I tap onto the stick and glide onto my skin so I can use less and apply just to areas that require some coverage. The coverage is beautiful and there is a scent, but I enjoy it.
The new Glossier You Doux is a warm and woody scent that I instantly loved. It’s a clean crisp scent with a bit of warmth and musk, a combination I love for day to day wear.
Inn Beauty’s Extreme Cream is the thick daily moisturizer my skin desperately needs especially in the winter. I read it’s a dupe for Augustinus Bader which is expensive AF and in my opinion, not worth the hefty price tag. I like this formula better and the price is so much more palatable.
Viral Products I Don’t Love
Now what didn’t work for me? Just a couple things including the Kosas concealer that everyone and their mother raved about. It set in my fine lines and just didn’t like it at all for me.
While I LOVE the viral Phlur vanilla skin body spray and perfume, the deodorant doesn’t mix well with my body chemistry I think and no longer smells like vanilla on me and I think I’ll stick with the old classic cashmere mist which works well for my sweaty, stanky pits (and use up the couple of these I bought since I don’t want to waste it!)
