I think I can speak for all Midwest folk and say we’re all completely over the cold and snow that this lingering winter brings. I’m personally tired of all the winter gear and feeling like a blob just trying to stay warm, but last Saturday I decided I could style a rather basic outfit with varying winter coats and accessories.
Closet Overhaul (and reminding me of great things hidden in my closet)
Last week I overhauled my closets and sold over $1,100 worth of clothes, a majority of the clothing selling for $5 or $10, which tells you just how much volume of shit I had that I didn’t need. Once I got rid of the clutter, I realized I did have some cute winter coats that I forgot about this season.
So I wore this vintage leopard print coat that I got years ago in Chicago over a basic sweatshirt/jean combo. And later that day, I put on another coat and different pair of boots, because why not? If I have to suffer through this never-ending winter, I’m going to get my wear out of all my coats.
Last Weekend
Last Saturday, Matt and I drove out to Muskegon for the day to visit my parents. We got up early first to grab lattes from Madcap Coffee in Grand Rapids and shop at Sparrow Boutique before giving Matt a little tour of my hometown and going out to brunch with my parents at a little place called Grandma’s Griddle. We then stopped at the outlet mall on our way home before watching five hours straight of Entourage reruns!

I love the outfit, especially the Gucci bag! I’ve always wanted a classic black bag…

That big teddy coat looks so cozy! I’m sick of the cold as well, just last week we had great weather here and now we’re back to strong winds and rain…
