I struggled to dress myself last Saturday. I had a day filled with plans and I wanted something comfortable enough to take photos of new arrivals at Retail Therapy and also pulled together for a day of shopping and dinner plans in Grand Rapids. I settled on the tried and true combo of jeans and striped tee plus a light trench. I also dug up these vintage chelsea boots I scored from Dear Golden that I forgot I had. While I’ve misplaced many things in my move, I’ve also uncovered some forgotten gems.
Since I’m not much a night owl and prefer to spend the day exploring, I headed to Grand Rapids with four hours to spare before my friends’ dinner reservations at Grove. I first hit up Lyon Street Cafe for a mocha and oversized coffee cake muffin. Next, I bought some inappropriate and amazing cards from Rebel Reclaimed, snagged a candle and perfume in the same scent from Blacklamb. If I as a person was translated into a store, it would be Blacklamb. I just love the aesthetic. The ladies at Blacklamb clued me in on a store called Hunt & Gather and so I headed there next to check out the vintage furniture. I ended the evening with a pre-dinner ice cream cone at Furniture City Creamery, a pork noodle dish from Grove and bought six macarons from Le Bon even though I had the ice cream and I also ordered a dessert during dinner (butterscotch pudding!) I parted ways with my friends who were just beginning their night of bar hopping and I headed home to my pup. A Saturday well spent.
