My patio has been looking sad all summer long. It became unkempt with unwanted vines growing around the deck, dead plants and bland, boring furniture and a dull color scheme. I already had the patio furniture and umbrella, but with some accessories, I was able to refresh this space quickly and on the cheap. Read on for the after photos!
Inject Some Color with Accessories
By adding colorful pillows and decor, the space instantly looked brighter and more welcoming. Since the deck is brown and the furniture is beige and boring, I had a lot of opportunity to toss in whatever color I wanted. I was itching for a mix of red, pink and pops of teal.
Change out the Rug
My previous rug was so boring and I found the most beautiful red outdoor rug from Wayfair that I think pulled the whole outdoor space together. I layered the old rug and the new rug for a more bohemian vibe too. I just love the layered rug look.
Add Greenery
Adding plants is the easiest way to inject some life into any space. It’s why my house is filled with them. I love hardy, easy keeper plants like ferns and snake plants–and I’ve been trying out flowers as well. A couple have already withered away, but I actually paid attention to the labels this time to pick flowers that prefer a lot of direct sun, which this spot sees plenty of.

I love the look of your patio! Looks so comfy for chilling in. 🙂 Unfortunately, I live in a tiny apartment flat, so no patio/balcony/any kind of outdoor space for me. 🙁

Oh wow! Those little details definitely added a lot to the space. Wishing I had a little patio of my own.
