I’ve been craving a lot of change with my hair this past year. From bangs to copper red hair, I’ve loved the experimentation and fun, but ready to go back to something lower maintenance!
First step: From Copper to Strawberry Blonde
Now going from red to blonde or bronde can be a challenge and I knew I had to set expectations that it’s not going to happen in one appointment, which I’ve always understood from all my years of going red. I want to take my time and put the health of my hair first so baby steps it is. You can see my inspiration image for my hair below, but for this first appointment, my hair colorist Beth at Douglas J Okemos focused on balayage and highlights to lighten up my hair with a tone and gloss I believe. There’s so much dimension and loving this in-between color.
Next Steps: Going Bronde
The last photo below is what I’m hoping to achieve eventually. Something lower maintenance that also better blends my greys which I realize I could easily see when my hair grew out without the highlights to help conceal them.
While I wait for my next appointment in February, I’ll be getting my hair trimmed earlier than typically necessary to get some fresh ends and planning to use some deep conditioning masks like Oribe gold lust transformative hair mask.
