I’m lucky that my employer Martin Waymire, a small PR agency, lets me wear pretty much whatever I want. I can wear leggings and sweats on days with no client meetings, dress up for big events and dress somewhere in the middle most days like this look. And I find that the right accessories can polish the looks and complete them.
Jewelry Pieces that Look Fancy, But Are Effortless AF
Elodie Boutique sent me these lightweight tassle earrings. In the last couple months or so since I started wearing earrings, I’ve been drawn to statement earrings that take an everyday outfit from okay to yasss. These are just $16 from Elodie, and I’m also loving any of these tortoise earrings and hoops from The SHUDIO. And these $28 tassle earrings from Madewell are so cute!
OMG Shoes!
I’m still obsessed with mules and these Seychelles are at the top of my shopping list. They look similar to the ones I’m wearing, but I love the round toe and peach color. And these cream color mules from Target for $28 are so beautiful and look much more expensive. They come in yellow too, but I’d love a cream shoe for summer. I have a pair like these TOMS mules that are now 40% off now!
Since it’s summer, I’m busting out the espadrilles and finding so many new styles that I want like these platform espadrilles–you can dress them up or down. And these Soludos criss cross lace up espadrilles, GASP. ย I’ve styled these pink Soludos espadrilles in this post last week and they’re also a fun, playful shoe to wear with a maxi dress or linen pants to work.
A Fun Bag Along with Your Boring Work Bag
Everyone has the boring work bag. It might be a laptop bag or some old tote you stuff everything in for the day. But occasionally, I pack a fun bag along with my work bag that I can use for a client lunch or a stroll downtown for coffee.
I’ve been stocking up on my woven bags like this crossbody and the straw handbag I wore in this post. This woven rattan circle bag is another fun option!
If one bag is all you want for work, I love a cool backpack. They’re practical and when done right, super chic. I like this $80 Herschel bag, this vegan leather version that comes in four colors (nude is my fave!) and lastly, this Madewell leather backpack is my favorite option. I love the rich leather and size, you can fit a lot in it.

Love this! I’ve been trying to figure out ways to elevate my work style, without going to formal. I wear a lot of cardigans over blouses, which are great, but they are starting to feel a little stale and lazy in my day to day. However, I don’t want to go all the way to blazers because that feels far too formal for my office atmosphere. Any advice for something in between I can try?

How do you feel about moto jackets, dolman sleeved or billowy cardigans like this http://bit.ly/2JEKGo2? And Zara blazers to me are so cool and modern–I have one of the crepe blazers in emerald and I wear it a lot and can style down with jeans, long tank underneath and flats! https://www.zara.com/us/en/woman-blazers-l1055.html?v1=797504
