T-Shirt Styling for the Weekend

Rain ruined a few of my plans last weekend, but it didn’t deter me and Brooke from our day trip to Hudsonville, Michigan to shop.

A Girls Day Trip

The Found Cottage is the cutest shop and it’s basically a destination–so much to see, I could spend hours in here! I was focused on shopping for fall decor while Brooke tried on clothing.

After shopping, we ran over to Sonder for a late lunch. I got a delicious egg scramble with sweet potatoes, apple sausage and brussel sprouts–and Brooke got a burger. We were both hangry by the time we snapped our photos outside of Sonder that we needed to eat first before we continued our journey.

We meant to shop at Ivy Castle, nearby Sonder, but it closed by the time we got our food and so we settled for a local Target and I bought up so much cute, cozy stuff!

Giving Yourself Some YOU Time

One of the things Brooke and I talked about during the car ride was this concept of giving yourself time without guilt and that it’s really hard. Hard for Brooke since she has a five-year-old little girl who’s had some health scares and for me since I overschedule my life with freelance work and find it hard to make time to just have fun and not monetize every moment of my life.

We both were on the fence with leaving for a few hours to have fun, but we both were glad we took the time! And bonus, I got to see Brooke’s new Chloe backpack which she let me borrow during the day, as you see here. A good friend lets you use her fancy purse before she even gets to use it!
