A little bit country, a little bit rock-n-roll
I feel most comfortable in something slightly edgier, but cozy–the mix of leather and cotton in black and neutrals are the perfect combination for me. My mom came to visit this weekend and we shopping and ate our way through Lansing and Owosso. I couldn’t choose between this jacket or an oversized boucle jacket, so I ended up wearing both! I’ll share more of the look with the boucle jacket later this week (and a little guide to my favorite spots in Owosso!)
The elements to create a cozy, edgy look
The perfect tee. I love anything striped and it helps me add a little more interest to my standard style. This one is a little cropped and I tucked just a bit of it into my high waist jeans. I’m digging this striped tee with a bell sleeve, striped balloon sleeve sweatshirt for winter layers, a classic striped jersey tee, this sale graphic sweatshirt or this one by Rebecca Minkoff!
A suede/leather jacket. I traded in my signature black leather jacket for something a little softer..with a lot of fringe. This suede moto jacket will forever be my favorite and I love this affordable faux leather jacket.
Distressed denim. I personally prefer something classic like Levi’s–basically any of these ones!
Kick ass boots. Whether that kick-ass pair of boots are classic Chelsea boots like this one or something with shearling like these ones I’m wearing (or these more affordable versions)–wear your version of ass-kicking boots.
