I probably say this every year, but I feel even more appreciative of spring and its warmer weather this year after a brutally cold winter. In celebration, I’m shaving my legs more and wearing more cropped pants, wearing color and incorporating new style trends into my beauty, hair and style routine.
Hair Trends
I was hesitant of some of the hair accessories I’ve been seeing. It immediately brought me back to 7th grade and the colorful butterfly clips I attached to my fuzzy bangs. AHH. But this version is much more sophisticated with beaded barrettes, clips, headbands and hair ties and bows. I’m wearing this pretty hair tie from Elodie Boutique to test out a spring trend and I love how much it elevates a simple low ponytail. I especially love these oversized pearl barrettes.
Style Trends
I’m loving floral prints, earthy tones and bohemian details like crochet. I’m loving the crochet details in mules like these Franco Sarto shoes that come in tan and white. I also love these woven mules by Sam Edelman, plus they come in several colors.
As far as earthy tones go, I love anything bohemian in earthy tones like this Free People mini dress in pearl, this gorgeous Free People maxi dress with a ruffled hem and this Old Navy fit and flare tiered dress in olive (plus it’s on sale for $22.)
I’m also on board for the PVC tote trend as you can see in the last photo. I snagged a couple of these Staud bags a few weeks ago and I love the shape and whimsy of them. I found a more affordable option at Target with this clear backpack! Or this super cute version at Forever 21 for $18!
Beauty Trends
I just love dewy skin especially as I age and my face grease has been replaced with extreme dryness. I try to give myself that fresh, dewy look by using a facial oil like Drunk Elephant Luxury Marula Oil followed by Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer that’s mixed with a bit of highlighter (My favorite is Becca shimmering skin perfector.)
I also love the metallic hints for spring and it’s easy to replicate something similar from the runways by using Charlotte Tilbury luxury eye shadow set and Tarte toasted eyeshadow palette. I’m no good at eye shadow, but I’m going to challenge myself to learn! I just love the look of a shimmery, rose gold eye lid. For the lips, the Fenty gloss bomb universal lip luminizer seems like the perfect shimmery gloss. I eyed at this at Sephora last time I was there and regretting that I didn’t test it out in person!

I’ve been obsessed with beaded barrettes. I was initially “meh” about it but it grew on me. So cute! ๐
