Mentally, I’m ready for cooler weather, making chili and wearing lots of layers, but I’ve been lazy so far with my fall planning and bucket list–so here I’m going to commit to some of the things I plan to do this fall:
Update my Closet
Before fall actually hits, I always mean to transition my closet from summer to fall. I’ve bought several rubbermaid containers to store off-season clothing and shoes and I absolutely hate having to unpack and repack clothes–but it has to be done!
I’ve also started a list of items I need (or want) for this fall season that I believe I’ll get a lot of wear this season, skipping micro trends and purchasing items I can wear for seasons to come like this unstructured camel sweater jacket.
Update Home Decor
I’ve slowly started to accumulate a small amount of fall decor including glass pumpkins, felt pumpkins and a bouquet of dried wheat, all of which will be on display soon at the house. I’ve also stocked up on pumpkin and apple scented candles and have been lighting them the last two weeks.
Visit Cider Mills
Luckily in Michigan we have all kinds of cider mills with fresh cider and donuts. This is hands down my favorite part of the season. A few of my favorites in Michigan include Uncle John’s Cider Mill, Phillips Cider Mill and Schwallier’s Country Basket. I always stock up on donuts, cider and other treats like apple pies when I visit.
Enjoy some Fall Camping
I love a good camping weekend, but especially fall camping! I have plans for a camping trip the end of the month with Ashley and Erin–we’ll enjoy bonfires, cozying up in layers and drinking hot coffee outside and relaxing!
Go Tailgating
I tell myself to do this every year and it’s maybe every other year I actually make it to a MSU tailgate even though I live just 10 minutes from campus. I love a good tailgate and day drinking, so I’m hoping to get out to one by end of October.
Stay Home, Read
I’ve bought several books the last couple months but have overbooked my schedule and haven’t found time to read (plus I’ve been binge watching the Shield.) So I’d like to take time to slow down, cozy up on the couch and read a memoir with a pumpkin candle lit. These sound like great goals, Andrea! I definitely need to update my closet too – and declutter, major decluttering needs to go down! ❤️✨
