Last
weekend I headed back to Chicago to visit one of my best friends who I
feel like I always neglect when I make a trip back to the city. Courtney
and I went to the beach, shopped and ate only at places that offered
outside seating. I don’t get to see her often enough!

There
are brief moments when I miss living in Chicago. I miss my friends and I miss some of the convenience, yet when I thought about returning to work the following week, I was legitimately excited to return. It’s a rare thing to really love your job and I love mine. And I was thrilled to attend a presentation about the Michigan talent crisis in manufacturing on Monday, which I consider the highlight of my week. I still can’t understand how I can have such an interest in fashion AND workforce development. It bewilders me. I feel like I have the best of both worlds though, thanks to my job and this blog! If you have a blog, what other outside interests do you have? I’m always the most curious to learn if fellow bloggers work full-time and it was always amazes me to learn people working in fields unrelated to fashion and artistic creativity altogether.

I love the colors and the cutout in the romper and I felt
as if this may have been a bit Selective Potential and Girl & Closet
inspired. I think they’d both rock this romper and shoes!

I, too, am intrigued by the myriad of interests that people have outside of their blogs. My blog, for instance, is about weightloss and nutrition, but my field is instructional technology. The two subjects are as different as can be and yet they co-exist to take up the majority of my day.

Oooh, Andrea this outfit is SO beautiful. I just wore the same shoes (mine are whiskey) earlier this week, and they are so fab + comfy!! Love how you're rocking yours here, pretty lady! AND thank you so much for the shout out, adore you! xo V

I work in family law. Suits and pencil skirts are the norm. Clearly, I am not the norm. As it was said by Winona Ryder a la Beetlegise, "I myself am . . . strange and unusual." This is why I have my blog. Otherwise I have no creative outlet whatsoever.
Love this romper girl! The back is to die for and the heels are just cute as can be!

p.s. so jealous of your trip to Chicago – it's one of my favourite cities in the US!

Your romper is beautiful, and those heels compliment it perfectly!
I actually work in the environmental consulting field and studied environmental policy in school. I work full time on that, and its sometime crazy do be immersed in both the worlds of fashion and blogging and environmentalism simultaneously, as they sometimes butt heads! But, I started my blog based off of vintage and recycled fashion (though I love it all), and sometimes the balance just works!
Hope you are having a wonderful day!

You look amazing! I'd rock that romper if I could!
I have a full time job in radio, so completely unrelated to my job. Not saying I haven't looked into a job in fashion but you need a lot of experience to get in that field.

cut outs are always so fun, especially across the back; i love the juxtaposition of the innocence of the romper with the sharp metal of your necklace.
i work in pharmaceutical consulting, blog about fashion and style (among other odds and ends), write poetry, play basketball…. having myriad interests keeps life beautiful and interesting.

It's such a gift when you love your job!
I have a blog and I work full time in medical research. As you can imagine, my job fulfills my intellectual side – but I def need my blog to express myself artistically.
I'm always interested in people's outside lives as well. Thanks for the post!

That's wonderful that you love your job! I work in nonprofit development — which I love but is totally outside the realm of fashion — but I use my blog as a creative outlet and to highlight my interests outside of the office.
Sorren says
This romper is fantastic! I have attempted a couple cutout rompers in the change room but the cut out is always too close to the bra line [?!?!??] luckily, it looks like lulu's is a little smarter than the average bear.
I work full-time for AIR MILES as a Client Marketing Specialist. I have been lucky enough to find myself in a couple more creative positions with my marketing degree but this position is not one of them. As much as I love managing customer relationships, and representing them within our company, I don't know if I'd be able to do it without my blog providing the creative, and fashion outlet that it does!

Cute romper! I feel the same as you. I love my careers/professions and also love fashion. People always wonder when I tell them what I do, how are they related. I am a registered nurse and a registered dental hygienist and most recently a fashion consultant. Just started my own business. I love and am passionate about all of them. They are all rewarding in their own way. Check out my website and my blog.
