Happy November! I’ve got another new series coming to the blog: a monthly beauty edit! I so often randomly share the new skin and beauty products I’m trying, loving or hating and would love to share each month.
Beauty Edit: The New Faves
Somehow I never heard of the Chanel bronzing makeup base before spotting it at a friend’s bathroom and proceeded to have her put it on me. And it instantly gave my face more definition and warmth without any orange tones. It’s $50 but there’s a lot of product and from what I hear, a little goes a long way.
To apply the bronzer, I wanted a more diffused application and my beauty-obsessed friend Emily explained that brushes like the Morphe deluxe buffer brush pictured above is fluffy with duo-fibers making it a perfect brush for buffing bronzer.
I’ve been on the hunt for a couple new facial cleansing products. I got a travel size of Elemis cleansing balm during a blogger promotion where I just paid $5 for shipping and instantly loved the cleansing balm. It smells fresh and natural like an Aveda product and feels so smooth on the skin, melting away the day’s make up and dirt.
I also bought the Mamonde petal oil to foam cleanser thanks to a recommendation to the same friend with the bronzer. It cleaned my skin far more than my previous cleanser and my skin actually felt clean but not stripped. And not much make up left on skin.
I recently purchased the Laneige lip sleeping mask in vanilla. Since my lips are perpetually dry, I keep this in my nightstand and apply before bed each night. I wake up with hydrated, smooth lips!
Beauty Edit: Items to Skip
If you have dry skin like me, skip the Shiseido deep cleansing foam. My skin felt instantly dry and old after I rinsed it off my face. I immediately returned this as the product would be great on oily skin, but not dry!
I didn’t see much results with the Ordinary caffeine solution, but I’d hate to say skip it quite yet. I don’t have crazy bags under my eye so not much to transform and I’m still trying this product out!
