My Top Picks for Classic, Everyday Wardrobe Items

One of my favorite almost year-round uniforms–stretchy, skinny jeans, a striped oversized top with black boots and a staple leather jacket–all quality pieces that I wear on repeat.

My goal for 2020 is buying less cheaply made pieces and picking items that are higher quality that I can wear for years and years. It’s been a slow change, but each year I get a little better!

How to Recreate the Look

Madewell jeans are my wardrobe go-to–priced well and they fit so well. I’m wearing this high waist pair, but I also own these black jeans–another closet staple. I appreciate the petite sizing since I’m 5’4″ but they also have tall and taller versions of jeans, making it easy for every person to find a perfect pair of jeans.

Striped tees and tops are a personal favorite. I’m wearing this striped long sleeve top that fits oversized. This Madewell long sleeved tee is another great classic option or this $28 Everlane tee.

I invested in this pricier leather jacket since the fit was so perfect and it’s one of those jackets I hope to have in my closet years and years from now. I also own this Topshop leather moto jacket and it’s 40% off.

I love a black boot and I have a few I rotate between like these La Canadienne black boots (I’ve owned for three years) and the A.S. 98 pair of boots I’m wearing here. I also really like this Blondo waterproof boot that’s on major sale.
