I care very little about beauty trends except when fall fashion hits–then suddenly I’m inspired to research trends and pick a few I’m interested in and actually try them. Here are a few I’m into and purchase recommendations:
Moody Lips
I’m over the super dark, drying lip stains that age me by 40 years and I now welcome a deeper than natural shade that better compliments my skin tone. My all time favorite lipstick brand is Charlotte Tilbury. Even the matte lipsticks keep my lips smooth and hydrated. The Matte Revolution lipstick in natural berry red is the one I plan to try! Another top favorite is Bobbi Brown crushed lipsticks and crushed liquid lipsticks. I recently bought the crushed liquid lipstick in juicy date, a pinkish brown color, and I’m obsessed. I love it in the haute coco color too.
Dewy Skin
I love dewy skin year round since my skin is super dry, but it’s a trend I’ve been reading more about and I’m about to get super DEWY. First, keeping hydrated skin is what’s going to lend to this look so I’ve upped my skincare routine with a few new products. My faves? The Ordinary rose hip seed oil and the Ordinary marula oil. Both are just $9.80! I apply the rose hip oil at night and the marula oil most mornings if my skin is still dry. On days my skin isn’t as dry and doesn’t need marula oil, I’ll use the Kiehl’s ultra facial cream in the morning.
After I apply Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer, I add Glossier’s haloscope–a dewy highlighter product I swipe on my cheek bones and brow bones. It’s a vitamin rich product that leaves my skin feeling hydrated and it’s the perfect shimmer to create that dewy look.
Blushed Cheeks
For a while, I was skipping the blush, but after seeing runway images of models with the most perfect natural pink cheeks, I was inspired to try it again, this time with a multi stick, skipping the powder blush formulas. My favorite multi-stick is by ILIA in color is At Last (dusty rose.) I’ve also heard great things about the NARs multi-stick! To apply, I smile and swipe the stick on the apples of my cheeks and rub in using my fingers lightly!
