Sundays used to be a day of rest and relaxation, but this year, they’ve turned into a combination of a work day and catch up day! Since I work full-time, run the blog, increased my photography work and work with a couple small businesses doing freelance work, Sunday is a day that I use to schedule photo sessions, queue up blog posts and get caught up on home cleaning and organization.
Sunday Morning
Lately, I let myself sleep in if I don’t have a morning family photo session scheduled. Last Sunday I was sleeping until 9 a.m.! I used to rush and work out in the morning, but right now with my schedule, I just need that morning off if I can to sleep in, watch CBS Sunday Morning with Matt and then head to the gym around 10ish for 45 minutes.
Once I’m back from a late morning workout, I usually edit photos, work on blog posts for the week and answer emails. I’m obsessive about a zero email inbox and must take care of emails as soon as I can.
Sunday Afternoon
By the afternoon, I usually have a shoot planned at Retail Therapy, seems like every other week, and I run over for an hour or so to photograph Veronika in new arrivals for social media. I usually try on new clothes too since I can’t help myself.
Once I’m back home, I always immediately upload any photos taken and set a schedule for editing. Most times I like to get started editing right away. If I can’t, I plug a time slot on my calendar and stick to my schedule to ensure the work is done timely. I hate drowning in photo editing and getting behind!
On Sundays, I like to make an early dinner. Like 4 p.m. I’m an early bird geriatric at heart. Now that it’s colder weather, I make a lot of chili, soup or pastas that we can eat for dinner and meal prep for a couple extra days of the week. I also like to bake this time of the year and it’s been a lot of pumpkin bread and muffins!
Sunday Evening
If I don’t have photos scheduled, I try to stay in the house by the evening. Maybe get in an early shower, toss on cozy pajamas and watch Netflix, Hulu or Amazon Prime. I love TV.
I usually start laundry and Matt will help me change our bedding. I’ve been lazy the last couple weeks so he changed it himself a few days ago so I’m off the hook tonight for that. I usually try to slowly pick up things around the house throughout the day so around the evening time, the house is clean and organized again.
I end the evening heading up to Matt first for bed, usually watching something on my own or working on my laptop in bed while Matt watches something sports related or PBS in the living room! I really enjoy some quiet alone time before bed to unwind before the start of a new week.

I love to catch up on work or prep for the week ahead on Sunday. When I don’t have much to do, I feel uneasy – like, I should be doing something, right? Haha! Thanks for sharing your Sunday routine! 🙂
