I’ve never been much of a floral scent girl. I’d much prefer a cologne over something that smells like a flower and over the years, I’ve found some intriguing scents that fit my aesthetic and personality.
Plus, it’s a good time to snag a good scent during Sephora’s Beauty Insider Holiday Bonus Sale. All fragrances are on sale (along with everything else in the store) and depending on your beauty insider level, you can get 10, 15 or 20% off purchases.
Replica Jazz Club by Maison Margiela
Jazz Club is categorized as a male cologne, but I prefer how it smells on me. It’s warm and spicy with notes of rum and tobacco. Plus, the packaging is beautiful. I keep the full size on my dresser and a travel size in my travel bag.
Tom Ford Black Orchid
I love almost all Tom Ford Fragrances, but Black Orchid is my all time favorite. It’s considered a warm floral with orchid, of course, patchouli and sandalwood. It has a spicy scent that I gravitate towards for a special event or hot date.
Diptyque Vetyverio/Vetiver Eau de Toilette
A blend of vetiver and flowers, this woody fragrance by Diptyque is my daily go-to scent for the work week–a subtle scent that I love to wear when I put my professional hat on.
Marc Jacobs Decadence
Pay no mind to the gaudy packaging, this Marc Jacobs scent is irresistible. It’s described as “a sensual fragrance as intoxicating as the woman who wears it.” Probably why this is my first choice for dates. This one is categorized in the floral scent family, but it’s far from the typical floral smell I avoid.
Band of Outlaws
I scooped this perfume up from Wood+Cloth in Traverse City on a whim since the scent was such musky perfection. This is my “Imma Kick Some Ass” today scent.
