2023 was a spendy year. I had a wedding, three international trips including our honeymoon among other home updates, procedures and more so I’m hoping 2024 I will doing less, saving more. But I did get some great items I’ll be using for years to come that I want to share:
Celine Bags in Paris
I bought three Celine bags this year, one of which I found secondhand on Poshmark but with the bucket bag and teen Triomphe bag, I had wonderful in-store experiences in Paris which make those classic bags all the more special.
Pixi On The Glow Blush
I have bought and tried all the blushes and the on I keep coming back to is this $18 cream option from Target (can also snag from Ulta.) It’s shaped almost like a deodorant stick which makes application very easy with quick swipes and I love the color in light pink.
Black Chanel Ballet Flats
I bought my black Chanel ballet flats from Poshmark for a great price and I wear these easily several times a week and love that they were already broken in for me. I highly recommend shopping on Poshmark for better deals as I’ve scored some great designer items over the years and to be honest, I love a broken in shoe at half the price or less!
Dyson Airstrait
I bought the pricy Airstrait hoping I’d hate it, but I instantly loved it. It takes mere MINUTES for me to have smooth, presentable and dry hair which is quite a feat for someone with naturally wavy, fuzzy, dense hair. You can read my initial review here. I still stand by my statement though that it doesn’t work as well for me as a standalone hair dryer and the Dyson blow dryer is still very much needed, but this combo is life changing.
Alastin Silk Shield SPF
I never forget my face SPF now that I have the silky smooth Alastin SPF. I can’t wait to apply this to my skin each morning and it easily doubles as a primer.
Makeup by Mario Lipliner
The ultasuede sculpting lip pencil is the only one I wear now. And I used to exclusively wear Charlotte Tilbury’s pillow talk lip liner but I like how this glides on my lips better and how natural it looks on my lips.
Travel Essentials: Monos Carry On Plus and Dagne Dover Backpack
I bought new travel items this year including the Monos Carry On Plus which I’ve used for domestic and international travel. This version has a little more space but it is ultra lightweight and wheels around like a pro. I also used a real old shitty two wheel carry on before this, but I did a lot of research for a quality carry on with more space, compartments for easy organization and this has been great.
I also had been eyeing the Dagne Dover large backpack and put off purchasing it until September, using it for the drive down to Mobile to visit Rob and then for Ireland. For flights, this backpack fits so much, somehow magically feels light as a feather to carry and easily fits onto my carry on to wheel around with ease. I love the separate compartment for my laptop and drinks. I’ll never be able to use anything else as a personal item now with air travel.
