I’ve spent the last few months paring down my closet to what I really love wearing over and over and over again. And guess what, it’s a lot of basics. It’s jeans, tees, sweatshirts, jackets and a mix of accessories that refresh it all season to season.
I’ve spent more time making thoughtful purchase decisions instead of spontaneous buys which really only leads me to want more quality basics and high quality accessories that I mix and match.
Here are some of my favorite accessories:
Mixing Metals
Jewelry is an easy, understated option for me. I so love the look of layers and layers of necklaces and big earrings, but it’s just not me. I tend to lean towards 2-6 rings, mixing metals with the occasional minimal necklace layering.
Silk Scarves and Bandanas
I’ve slowly added a few beautiful scarves to my collection and the silk bandana has been my favorite purchase this year. It feels and looks so luxurious and adds a little something to an otherwise simple outfit. I love adding one to a crewneck sweatshirt or a striped tee.
This Hermes cashmere silk scarf is next on my list.
And I just love this Toteme scarf. Such a pretty color.
Bags!
I’ve simplified my bag collection, choosing to sell seven of my bags so far to save for an Hermes Birkin, but I think that’s a farther out dream than reality so I decided to get the Row Margaux bag in saddle leather size 15.
I originally purchased it in the size 12 in pebble leather and while it’s an absolutely stunning bag, I wanted something with a little more space so I could use it more often. Since these bags are harder to find, my only option in the 15 at the time was saddle leather, which is a little pricier and more prone to scratches but I think it’s so beautiful, and will age beautifully. So I’ll be carrying the same bags more and more, but impeccable quality that I won’t tire of!
Bag Charms and Keychains
So far, I have this charm and this cherry charm that I think are so fun and playful. I’m not going to be the one piling on the charms on one bag, but one or two are fun and wild enough for me.
This chili pepper charm is adorable!
This Saint Laurent heart shaped padlock is on my list now too.
I wish this Gucci dog charm came in a cavalier!
Bright pink letter charm. Or this $14 gold letter charm (I’m thinking I’ll get this one next.)
Sunglasses
I’m a sucker for sunglasses, I can’t help it. These $39 sunnies have been my favorite lately (similar vibes on the cheap.) They just scream cool and effortless. I’m also obsessed with these Prada sunglasses. These two are my most worn!
Baseball Caps
These have forever been in rotation in my closet. My favorite and most worn is this Anine Bing hat and the Celine denim hat I bought in Barcelona last spring.
