My hair routine has been refreshed yet again now that I’ve gone more blonde, maintaining a shorter hair cut and looking for more volume. Read on for the products, tools and my hair inspo:
Hair Products
For the last few years, I didn’t add much bleach or color to my hair but with the shorter hair and regular haircuts, I think my hair can manage the bleach, but does require more heat protection and such.
For shampoo, I’m still using the Aveda scalp benefits and the Living Proof triple detox shampoo. Both great for my scalp. For conditioner, I’m still using the Brazilian Blowout hair mask. This is great for keratin treated hair and makes my hair feel so smooth. I also love the Aveda rosemary mint shampoo and conditioner.
For styling prep, Aveda’s speed of light is an absolute must to speed up the dry time and add some thermal heat protection. I also use Aveda’s smooth infusion to help protect against humidity and smooth out my hair. I also just ordered the Olaplex No. 8 bond intense moisture mask to help repair some of the damage on my hair. It’s received great reviews!
Hair Tools
I was pro Dyson blow dryer until the one I bought 10 months ago took a shit and I just bought the T3 blowdryer at Costco for a fraction of the price. It takes longer to blow dry my hair, but my hair is actually smoother with this blowdryer.
I use this t3 flat iron–worth the price!
Instead of curling my hair now, I use this $40 deep waver. Gives soft waves and I love the messier, voluminous look it gives me–adds SO much volume. It took me a while to get the hang of it, but don’t press it for too long to avoid too intense waves and move the deep waver down your hair far enough so you don’t overlap with hair you’ve already waved (looks crimped when you don’t move it down far enough.) This is some great inspo and the hair I’ve been working to achieve! And this too!
