My fall bucket list is a little lighter than usual, but it’s my favorite time of the year. I love exploring the fall color change and eating all the donuts from local cider mills and definitely want to do my favorite things by taking the right precautions around COVID.
My Fall Bucket List | Limited Travel
I love to visit northern Michigan every fall season, observing the fall color change as I drive to the upper peninsula, Traverse City or some other northern city destination. I will be visiting Traverse City this weekend and visiting a couple wineries, taking in all the fall colors with a glass of wine. There’s really no prettier place than Michigan this time of the year. I’ll be sharing a lot on Instagram during my trip so follow along!
I also love to visit Nashville in late fall since it’s a little warmer there and quieter that time of year. And I always road trip it, which makes me feel a little safer than traveling my plane.
I also usually take a fall camping trip and I was able to do this a couple weeks before it was officially fall but I count it because it was cooler weather and I love being bundled up outside by a fire this time of the year.
My Fall Bucket List | Basic Bitch Shit
Obviously, top of the list is visiting cider mills to buy cider, donuts, pies and other treats. Depending on the orchard or mill, I can visit a pumpkin patch, drink hard cider and pick my apples.
I personally love Phillips Cider Mill–definitely more catered to an adult audience with its hard cider tasting, indoor shop but they have the best baked goods (the apple pie and churro-like donuts are the best) plus cider slushies! Uncle John’s is great too and has a ton of activities usually for children.
I also love horseback riding, specifically trail rides when it’s cooler. I plan to visit Sundance in Lansing for a trail ride and ride horses at my parents’ home this fall.
The last couple years I started baking sugar cookies in the fall and winter with my friend Emily. She has a family recipe for sugar cookie and we’ve decorated fall and holiday cookies and such a fun thing to indoors when it’s cold and give the cookies as a little pick me up to friends and family. I hope to schedule a time with Emily soon!
