Michigan Travel Diary: Tahquamenon Falls + Pictured Rocks

For years, I’ve heard how amazing Tahquamenon Falls is, but nature has never been my favorite. Bugs, dirt and humidity are things I generally avoid and to get to these falls, I had to combat it all. A storm was rolling in and so we saw the lower falls and I sat in my car like a loser while my parents went to see the upper falls in the rain.

And the next morning, we got up early to check out Miners Falls and Miners Castle Rock at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. I was a little more prepared for nature this time around and wore workout clothes and drenched myself in bug spray!

My favorite view is probably the lookout point at Miners Castle Rock. The upper and lower lookout both have incredible views!
