It’s been a hot trip to Chicago, literally. I refused to pack shorts and quickly regretted it, but I did pack this slinky maxi from Sparrow Boutique. It’s the perfect transitional piece for me since it’s easy to style for varying weather. I wore it this way in Chicago for a bit before tossing a tee over top for dinner, but I thought I’d share how to style it now while the summer is here and through the fall season.
Summer Maxi Style
I styled it now with straw details that scream summer and the hat has been super functional since my scalp has been sunburned. I added flat sandals that I could walk all day (and through Chicago) in and called it good! I love this dress because I didn’t even need a bra and felt completely comfortable forgoing one. Like I said, it was so hot and the less I’m wearing now, the better.
Since the maxi is a little too long on me and I wore flat sandals, I tied a knot at the bottom to lift it up. The perfect solution for maxi dresses or skirts too long on us shorties.
Fall Maxi Style
To fall-ify anything, I add suede. This jacket is workhorse in my fall wardrobe and I wear it with almost anything! I also added nude mules and my YSL bag, slightly dressier for a night out.
You can peek the new Machete earrings I bought from my friend Merl’s shop, the SHUDIO, another oversized hoop pair that I’m obsessed with. Lately I find myself skipping all jewelry except a pair of fun earrings that lend a little boho vibe.
