Animal print is always a classic, but it’s having a major moment this fall, lucky me! I’ve worn similar versions of this look over the years, but this dress is slightly more sophisticated, perfect for an occasion like a wedding.
Styling Leopard Print
I wore this dress to a wedding last weekend in northern Michigan. It was cold and I knew that a maxi dress would be both chic and functional–cover my legs and keep me warm during the outdoor ceremony, but a little cleave to keep it fun. I styled it here with leather ankle boots and a leather moto jacket but kept it simple for the wedding with a more basic leather jacket and black pumps.
This particular dress is low cut, but it’s still easy to toss a tee or cropped blouse over top for a little more modesty or add an oversized sweater over top–all options I plan on using to wear this dress to work.
Feeling More Polished with Lash Extensions
I’ve mentioned this a few times now, but I had lash extensions for a couple years and phased them out last spring due to an allergic reaction and tried again in August with no luck. This time, I wanted to try it again with a lash artist that understood my previous issues and Brie at Stephagios in Reo Town in Lansing had some ideas and I was excited to have some lash extensions for the weekend up north and the wedding.
First, she uses clear glue instead black glue as she’s found that is less irritable for those prone to reactions to lash extensions, herself included. She was also firm on making sure my lashes were completely clean and ready to go before the session and I used a special cleanser to wash my eyes after removing mascara. Brie was incredibly meticulous and they looked fabulous, but I still had a few issues.
Immediately after I could tell my skin around my eyes were a bit irritated though and when I woke up the next morning my eyelids were puffy and swollen. I’m thinking the issue has to do with the eye pads and tape used. I did keep the lashes and haven’t had any issues after the first day–no itching, rashes, flaky skin! I want to see if there’s a way to skip the eye pads and tape on my eyes so that I can keep these because they feel and look so natural and I’m so happy with the look and feel with them. And if I can’t have them, I’m going to try a lash tint and lift by Brie! Either way, I need to have fabulous lashes by Brie.
If you’re interested in lash extensions or lash tint/lift, mention my blog for 20% off your first service with Brie! I forget how amazing lash extensions are–I’ve been mascara free since last Thursday and feel like I don’t need any makeupย at all because of these amazing lash extensions!
