This month felt the longest its ever felt. Maybe it’s the New Orleans attack that got us started with the new year, heartbreaking wildfires, inauguration of a felon, airplane crashes, hate against undocumented immigrants and trans folks and basically anyone who’s not a white Christian, and a never ending list that I could continue.
There has not been much to celebrate so far this year, but to keep myself sane, there are a couple personal wins I’ve experienced.
Musings
I chopped my hair off finally. It’s the physical reset I need and I’m obsessed with it.
I’ve stayed strong with my low buy goals and boycotting Target thanks to their DEI rollbacks have made it easier. My only purchases outsides of needs have been wildfire donations, a Heidi Montag t-shirt to help them rebuild their home and these Nili Lotan pants that were $100 off that I’ve been eyeing for years plus a couple Hermes items that I’ve shared in a post earlier this month. And if I don’t absolutely love these damn pants when they arrive in the mail, they will be returned. My big goal is to buy less and invest in high quality pieces I can wear for years and it feels oddly refreshing to not being buying constantly.
I’ve been on a major declutter kick with success. I’ve been selling items on Poshmark, Fashionphile and giving my mom things she’ll love and use more than I will. You can shop my Poshmark here. And I’ve been using these funds to buy my few purchases I’ve made in January.
Colette and I started a puppy class a few weeks ago and I love it. We’re learning a lot together and it’s been a fun way for me to get out of the house this month. All the puppies are adorable so it’s an instant stress reliever too. I highly recommend the classes at Dog Gone Fun in Okemos.
