Bike shorts have been a hot trend the last year, and not just for cycling. I bought these shorts for a trip to Arizona last April and wore them for a jeep tour in Sedona–and have been hooked since. And now I wear them for workouts and again for casual everyday looks now that it’s finally starting to warm up in Michigan.
Styling the Sporty Wardrobe Staple
We don’t leave the house much, but we did go for a short bicycle ride, drive in the car with the dogs, and a walk downtown last Saturday and as it warmed up throughout the day, I busted out the bike shorts.
There are dozens of ways to style the bike short and right now, I love an oversized sweatshirt or tunic layered on top as I styled here. The sweatshirt is a couple years old, but it’s been a wardrobe staple as well–the perfect length to cover your butt in leggings or biker shorts and so comfy. I like this tie dye sweatshirt and this oversized tee to recreate this look.
I love the idea of cropped hoodies (this one is on sale!) or sweatshirts with bike shorts and if you’re looking to dress it up, it looks so cool with a graphic tee like this $10 tee and oversized blazer.
Shop Biker Shorts
To test the trend out, shop these basic black shorts for $15 or $20 sale black bike shorts (and come in other colors)–I love this style as I have it in leggings and the fabric is so soft. And another style for just $15–basic black and great reviews.
These are the exact bike shorts I’m wearing–I love the wide waist band and doesn’t dig into my hips and smooths out my tummy area.
My leopard pair are sold out right now, but I love these leopard bike shorts and these J Crew shorts are 40% off, look almost identical to the ones I have and a great price. Love the outfit. I’m not a fan of the trend but I like how you style it. The sweatshirt is really cute.
