Winter is my season. I love layering, I think snow is pretty and I have even more of an excuse to be a homebody when it’s cold out. Here’s how I make the most of each and every winter season.
Winter Thriving
I’ll disclose that as an introvert who loves to enjoy my mortgage already, the winter is just another excuse to stay indoors and hibernate. The less plans, the better. My perfect weekend is binge watching TV with the fireplace on while watching the snowfall outside.
It also gives me plenty of time to keep up with everyday chores and extra organization and de-cluttering chores that I fall behind on during warmer months. I might spend the morning resting on my couch followed by decluttering my office and closet and meal prepping hearty soups for the week. If it’s not too terrible out, I always take my dogs for a walk no matter the weather so we all get some fresh air. Here are a few more things I love to do in the winter.
See a Movie Solo
I’m an avid movie watcher and love going to the movie theater for a matinee showing with popcorn and a Sprite Zero. I always upgrade my seat so it reclines and has heating and cooling options for ultimate comfort. Always worth it!
Make Soups and Casseroles, and Bake!
I love to cook in the winter. I make baked pasta dishes, casseroles and easy soups that I’ll eat throughout the week. I also love to bake scones and pumpkin bread. I don’t love grocery shopping so I find myself relying on Instacart, but I plan ahead so my groceries are delivered on a Saturday or Sunday morning so I have the weekend to cook with all the ingredients I need!
Post on Poshmark
I admit, sometimes I’m bored out of my mind during this season, but I make the most of it by decluttering and posting items for sale on Poshmark. Things I sit on for months and months, I’ll suddenly find the motivation and energy to get to it during a boring Saturday during the winter and I’ll easily make hundreds of dollars within a month or less. This gets me out of the house to the Post Office too and sometimes I need a little motivation to escape cabin fever.
Easy Indoor Movements
I bought a walking pad that I have hidden behind my couch in my living room and I like to start each morning with a walk while I watch TV. So easy! I also have a few hand weights and other exercise equipment to move my body a little bit more during the winter. I have a gym membership but I truly have no motivation to leave my home during the coldest of months so I’ll get back there once it warms up again.
Self-Care Extras
With all this extra time at home and living life at a slower pace, I feel like I have more time to indulge in a face mask, hair mask, dying my own eyebrows, etc. I also use this time to watch move TikTok’s on how to style my hair and new makeup hacks that I practice. It’s something I look forward to quite a bit!
This is also the perfect time to book a more intense facial treatment such as laser or chemical peel. Since there’s generally significantly less sun exposure, it’s the best time for me to sneak in something extra for my skin. I’d also love to do another round of under eye PRP along with specifically BBL (broadband light treatment) to reverse skin damage.
