If you’re feeling tired of your dining space, there are plenty of ways to make small changes to completely revamp it and here’s how I refreshed my dining nook:
Change Out the Chairs
When I originally bought this table, I also bought four matching midcentury modern chairs. It was just a little too stiff for my taste so after a couple years, I switched them out and picked two different sets of chairs–this white chair on sale for $138 and the outdoor wicker chairs.
I find that searching several sites to compare pricing and options can help you find the right furniture or anything really. For example, I originally wanted these CB2 chairs but they were way too pricy and found a pair of matching outdoor chairs that gave me similar vibes that were affordable for me.
Add Plants
Another great, cheap way to update a space? Add a plant–real or faux. I buy most of my plants from Home Depot and pick hardy ones that end up being no more than $30.
They add inject some life and color into a room. I have an air plant, pothos plant and bird of paradise, all real except air plant died years ago and shriveled up into something that looks cool from afar on a shelf.
I also love a quality faux plant like this one from Target that I have and these dried out pampas in the vase on the table. Plus, I love these little faux succulents that I have throughout the house to fill up space on shelves.
Update the Walls
I made small tweaks with the walls by adding one wall of wallpaper using this peel and stick buffalo plaid print, which is super affordable and easy to remove. I love this wallpaper option because if you want to try something else, easy to remove and apply a new peel and stick wallpaper. Plus, I love the extra dimension it gives to the space instead of the plain white.
You can easily change out wall decor too–sometimes I change up a room by moving pieces I own from one space to another. And Target has a ton of great options. I especially love a framed set of two, takes the guess work out of how to style a wall-just throw a set up. I can’t find the one in this room, but I also bought this set and love it.
I also have two of these pine floating shelves and I add plants, candles and vintage items to style them.
Add Texture and Color
I love a cow hide rug (and own this faux cow hide too although it’s not the one in the photo!) This authentic cow hide looks similar to mine and on sale.
Here’s a great throw blanket similar to mine and on sale. Major boho vibes. This one too!
These throw pillows and this woven pillow have such great color and texture.
Love your ideas! Your dining space is beautiful! ❤️✨
