I’ve been in a winter time pandemic funk and I know that means I need to refresh my routine and challenge myself and get creative in my house, my blog, photography, everything. Here are a few things I plan to accomplish this spring:
Try More Videos on Social (especially Instagram!)
I don’t usually have the desire to try new things on social media like live video or reels or TikToks, but I’ve recently tried Instagram reels and while I’m bad at them, it’s actually been fun to try something new. Part of my funk is doing the same thing over and over again and changing it up even by filming a 15 second reel on Instagram has brought some joy and excitement.
Paint and Redecorate A Few Rooms
Tackling a home project is on my radar all the time, but I’m not a fan of anything requiring my own labor BUT I will paint my own bedroom and Rob volunteered to paint my grungy “white” ceiling back to a crisp, fresh white. I’ve made all these furniture upgrades in the room, but the ceiling color is a major eyesore and also checking out flooring options.
And I’m making small changes to my office, dining room and family room like changing out decor, lighting and furniture. Check out my current inspo on Pinterest!
Get Back into My Fitness Groove
I feel so much better when I work out consistently and I have been working out 3-4 times a week. Now this exercise is much less strenuous than pre-pandemic time, but I’m walking and moving everyday and strength training during each workout with free weights, my TRX straps and kettle bells!
My main goal is to lose some fat and gain back muscle this spring although I know this is an ongoing process. I’ve already started to feel a bit stronger over the last couple weeks!
De-Clutter the House
Luckily, moving six months ago forced me to de-clutter and organize quite a bit, but I still have plenty of things I don’t need spilling out of drawers and taking up space in the basement. In these cases, I like to organize it all by sell, donate or give to family/friends. I sell on Poshmark, Instagram and for designer items, I usually sell to Fashionphile since it’s quick and they usually pay pretty well.
I recently dropped off a carload of clothing and home goods to my mom’s house to disperse among my nieces, and will be focusing on all my pajamas and loungewear that have overtaken my closet!
