Four Outfit Ideas for Fall Football Tailgates

James and I are itching for a little tailgate fun and we’re heading out next weekend for the big rivalry game Michigan State University vs University of Michigan. As a Spartan, I’ve collected my fair share of green and white apparel, like a green suede jacket or green sneakers to pair with my MSU apparel–and my green accessories paired perfectly with Top of the World’s new MSU apparel that I’m completely obsessed with.

Tailgate Style Outfit Formulas

When I’m dressing for MSU games, I prefer comfort and layers and it’s always a fun challenge to take MSU gear and make it look my style.

One of my favorite MSU outfit combinations is a pair of high rise leggings, a spartan tee tied up as a crop, green sneakers and some outerwear that pulls it together to be weather appropriate!

Another combination I’ve been wearing on repeat is a sweatshirt + vest combination. I snagged the grey MSU t-shirt in a size large for a cozier, oversized fit that pairs well with jeans or leggings–and I also prefer a loose fitting vest so I grabbed the sherpa vest in a large. Sherpa has is a big season trend that I can’t get enough of and excited to see it at the Top of the World pop up shop. They also had a sherpa pullover that I STILL want and will have to head back for it!

To make it even more practical, but add more flair, I added a green baseball hat I got this past spring and been hooked on backpacks to keep my hands free.

Top of the World Pop Up Shop Downtown East Lansing!

Top of the World will have a pop-up shop at the East Lansing Marriott stocked with men’s and women’s apparel. And bonus, it’s super affordable, and still such great quality. The pop-up shop opens Tuesday, Oct. 16 through Sunday, Oct. 21. The hours are 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. through Thursday and then expand to 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday, 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Saturday and 8 to noon on Sunday.
