I headed off to my workout classes this past Monday sporting this monochromatic outfit. I’ve been trying to kick my workouts up a notch since the last couple weeks have been busy with work events, weddings and distracting fun stuff like beach days where I eat and sit on my ass in the sun. I knew keeping up a routine in the summer would be more difficult for me. I always gain weight this time of the year because I’d prefer to eat a hot dog outside at a baseball game than commit to a sweaty workout.
I’ve been feeling a bit lackluster lately and it’s probably due to the increased consumption of donuts, egg mcmuffins and hot and ready Little Caesar’s Pizza. I’ve set a couple of new goals for myself that I’ve fallen on including: 1. Drink more water. 2. Eat more veggies! 3. Remember to take vitamins. 4. Try new fitness classes to add variety and more excitement. Wish me luck! If you have tips, please share!!

this is such a silly motivation for me but… MONEY!
Last summer I bought 3 months unlimited yoga at one of the studios here. It was pricey so I made it a point to go often enough that I wasnt screwing myself over. I would calculate how much I was paying per class to make sure it wasnt costing me more than if i paid each class. I would be at the studio 3/4 times a week to make sure it was worth it. haha.
SO if you have the money and find a place where you can take unlimited classes for a month, that's a big motivator to make the most of it. Also walking distance motivates a lot. I also love classes like bootcamp or crossfit cuz its short and insane. so you dont have to lose an entire evening, you're done in 45mins/an hour and you feel you got a lot done in that time.
AND lastly, don't beat yourself up if you miss a week!

It's nice to hear these sorts of thoughts from someone who "seems" to have it all figured out when it comes to fitness.
I struggle with keeping up with workouts in the summer every.single.year.
It's just hard to keep up with a workout routine because when it comes down to choosing to hangout with friends or go to a party over the gym….I just never pick the gym!

If you're drinking your water from something like a cute tumblr or mason jar it makes it a bit easier because it's more fun that just a regular glass or water bottle.

My other favorite topic after fashion and criminal justice … fitness! You still look amazing but I am forever on the "Drink more water" train with you.
In order to get more stretching and toning in, I have started to set small workout goals Monday through Friday like I can't open my laptop or use the internet until I do 30 minutes of Ballet Beautiful.
Still trying to get there, but it's a start! 🙂
