I take for granted that live so close to a few amazing places in Michigan, like any of the quaint towns along Lake Michigan, especially up north. Traverse City is one of my favorite places in the state to visit, but I haven’t made time to visit spots outside of the restaurants and wineries I usually visit for what seems the annual bachelorette party. This time, I treated the city as if I never was here before and took a drive by myself around town to spot new coffee shops and boutiques. I’m your typical “old soul” who wakes up early to go candle shopping while my hungover friends recuperate from the previous night’s shenanigans. And I found some new places while out and about by myself.
Sugarkissed is a spot I usually hit up when I’m here because..a. giant ass cookies. b. delicious cake pops.
Beautiful lake views up here, just can’t wait for it to warm up so I can actually hang out at the beach.
I stumbled upon this place filled with eccentric boutiques and a coffee shop. I wandered around smelling candles, checking out antique light fixtures at one of the shops and checking out the graffiti outside of the building.
On Saturday, my friends and I headed out to Old Mission to do some wine tasting. I was giddy about checking out Bonobo, a newer winery owned by Amy Smart and Carter Oosterhouse. It was such a beautiful space with plenty of lounge areas with views to chill out for a while, and after about an hour, Amy and Carter emerged! I took some shitty iPhone photos and wanted to tell them I loved their winery, but I chickened out.
