This is epitomizes my look and vibe goals for fall. Laidback, easy-going and carefree. This in no way describes who I am as a person, but vibes aspire to channel after a busy summer. Also, my mom and I revisited this post-apocalyptic piece of land across the street from the Muskegon Target, the former site of a horse race track and it always makes for a fun back drop–plus we were already headed to Target.
The Look, the Vibe
I snatched up this dress from Retail Therapy. The minute I spotted it on the rack I knew without trying it on it would be everything I love out of an easy midi dress. It flows away from the body and the gauzy fabric is incredibly comfortable.
I wore this look to a mini family reunion sans hat because I already appeared too extra in a dress rather than jeans and a sweatshirt like everyone which is normally what I wear, but I needed a reason to wear this dress ASAP.
Dresses like this one by JP and Mattie are so versatile and can be styled casually or slightly more dressed up.
Recreating the Look
You can buy this dress from Retail Therapy or shop a few others that I think lend the same laidback vibe. I love this denim midi dress from Madewell, 70s inspired and so cool. This Free People dress is very similar with tiered detailing, plus it comes in so many colors. And this $28 sleeveless midi dress is tiered and the most affordable of all the options. Pair with denim jacket for fall!
Lack of Color hats are my top hat brand because of the affordability and quality of the hats. I think I have seven of them now. My favorite is the rancher style, especially this ivory rancher hat ($129.) I wear size small! I also like this black wool hat from Madewell and it’s $79.
I bought these Able mules from Sparrow last fall and they’re still one of the top shoes I wear. I’m also digging these woven mules from DSW! JP and Mattie dress from Retail Therapy | mules from Sparrow Boutique | Lack of Color hat from Le Fleur | Bag by Givenchy
