Thrifting in Detroit
I had a conference in Detroit last week so while I sat indoors, Merl (who was visiting) scouted thrift shops around Detroit and scooped me back up later to join her in the suburbs where we hit up a few favorites we found last spring. I acquired two pleated midi skirts that were on my thrift shopping list, a fur coat with knit sleeves (not on my list, but totally necessary) and a leather belt that I’ve already been wearing nonstop.
Vintage Jeans of My Dreams
I bought these vintage Levi’s in August 2015 from Rawson’s vintage jeans at the Shudio and they barely fit then, but I was determined to make them work. And surprisingly, I adopted a healthier lifestyle and they now fit like a glove. I styled them with this boxy, almost cropped sweater and brown suede boots–just embracing the neutral tones of the Earth. And trying not to wear all black. I added my new Clyde’s Rebirth necklace that my friend Katherine gifted me before her wedding..another accessory I’ve been repeatedly wearing.
