I don’t mind these Mondays when I take the day off and get to spend the day enjoying the cooler weather and hanging out with my good friend Erin in Detroit. We both have a mutual love for fashion and food. What better way to spend the day than trying out new bakeries and clothing boutiques?

While we were checking out boutiques in Birmingham, we stopped at a place called Tender with a range of beautiful clothing from Balmain to Miu Miu. While we were browsing, a lady (assuming either the owner or manager) approached us and asked, “So…do you girls..work?” The condescending question gave me the sudden urge to slap her. Well, not really, but it angered us both.

The highlight of the trip was picking up cupcakes from the Cupcake Station. No one judged me here, ha.

    I do not understand her question. Did she mean in general, or was she implying you were prostitutes? I might not be so confused if not for the Pretty Woman reference, since I've never seen the movie but only know it is about a prostitute. Either way, pretty rude.

    And I can't believe that woman! A similar thing happened to me when I was shopping in Portugal she said something like "sorry, we've only got a small in that dress". I wasn't even looking at it!

    Oh Birmingham, I love the people there 🙂 And the cupcake station is amazing! You two look great, I'll have to stop by that boutique and try on a bunch of shoes and leave, that'll teach the sales lady (oh I could never do that, i'm too nice hah)

    You both look great, and it's wonderful to see pictures in my neck of the mitten.
