I headed up to Copper Harbor, Michigan, a beautifully desolate town in the Upper Peninsula last weekend for a wedding. It’s been a long time since I’ve lived in a small town, so when we approached our motel (yes, motel, that’s all that exists up there), I was uneasy to discover they just left the doors unlocked and the windows open. I made Don check the tub and I looked under the bed to confirm there was no one waiting to murder me. I felt as if I was transported back in time where pay phones are still used (I found working pay phone booths!) and the only gas station in town still relies on this cool, old gas pump:
I layered this crocheted vest from Threadsence over a vintage Levi’s plaid shirt and cut offs to explore Copper Harbor and surrounding towns. It was a comfortable, easy outfit to wear trekking around. Of course, I didn’t wear the wedges the whole day, but switched over to flats for some of the walking we did.

What a great outfit!! You look so pretty, and these photos of you having a blast in the water are lovely!!
girl, you're so cute! love the backdrop and these pics are great!
I was just in Copper Harbor a few weeks ago! We were staying a few miles down the road in Eagle Harbor, but we went to Copper once to hit up the "night life". Heh.
The U.P. is one of my favorite places on earth.
Fun pictures! I really like what you are wearing especially the white cardigan combined with your blouse!
Beautyful pics ^^

these pictures are gorgeous! your hair, the fringe, the plaid… it just all works. i love your blog oh so much 🙂 small towns are just th best, but only when youre a part of them. they feel so lonely from an outsiders perspective!

This harbour looks amazing! You make me wish I could go there 🙂 love your outfit, especially those wedges
Love the plaid and cut off shorts! The UP is so gorgeous. Hopefully you got to enjoy it…even if it is like a wilderness up there. 🙂
Beautiful photos! I love the scenery; it totally sets off your hippy-chic outfit. The bangle set is really pretty. Love the texture it adds to the look!
Oh my goodness, these photos are amazing! I really really need to head up there soon, it looks beautiful!!
Love this outfit! The checked shirt and crochet vest look so cute with the cut-offs. I just got back from a visit to the UP, Lake Superior is my favorite part of Michigan! It's just so beautiful up there!

What an adventure! It's kind of reassuring that places like these still exist. Except when you have to stay in them. I would be a bit unsettled at first myself.
Also, I have these shoes and I have yet to wear them because I feel like they look clunky on me. But they don't look clunky on you so maybe it's in my own mind. Must try again.
