Black + Grey

This weekend kicks off a slew of festivities that I’ve been anxiously awaiting: a trip to Chicago, Create + Cultivate and a Birchbox breakfast event downtown. Sam and I came down Thursday night and have an itinerary jam packed with cool shit. Believe me, I put together an itinerary to ensure we time everything out to fit it all in like Stan’s Donuts, the Shudio, downtown shopping and maybe some wandering in Wicker Park.

The excitement continues next week when I head into my first day at Martin Waymire Advocacy Communications. The team is incredibly talented, knowledgeable and a little intimidating, not because they want to be, but they’re on top of their game. I’m anxious to get started and get on that level. I’ve read something a while ago that said “I’m not comfortable unless I’m uncomfortable” and I’d say that’s my motto. I’ve been learning and growing a lot, in many ways that really challenged me in my last position. But now I’m excited for a challenge to grow in my profession and learn from the best.
I’ve been freelancing the last month, building off of blog, photography and social media work. The most exciting part of that has been using my set of skills to help local small businesses that are really the type of stores and studios we need to keep and grow like like Retail Therapy and FLEXcity Fitness. I feel like I’m on a constant rollercoaster ride with all these great things happening and that’s how I want my life to feel like.
