I’ve shared many updates on the living room progress and now I think it’s completely done! Curtains and curtain rods were installed a couple weeks ago, Rob hung more wall decor and the only thing really left is updating the current TV to a bigger one!
The Vibe
I wanted a laidback California vibe filled with neutral colors, natural wood and lots of texture. If you recall, I owned the chairs and that’s basically the only thing I had to furnish this room when I first moved in. All my old living room furniture went to the family room and I had to buy everything else.
I bought my first nice couch which the dogs all love and comfortable and easy to clean for me! I added texture with the pillows and blankets plus special decor pieces I’ve picked up from local designers and boutiques and Michigan travels. You can find ALL the links in the post I wrote on the room (and before and after photos.)
Curtains!
Curtains took me longer to figure out because I ended up deciding this was a job best suited for a professional since I lack any and all patience and the math skills to measure for rods and length of curtains.
The curtains are from Target and Stephanie, the designer, special ordered the rods so that it’s one rod across instead of individual rods for each window. So clean looking! I went with black hardware too and chose to hang the curtains higher to give the illusion of taller ceilings and bigger windows.
