I was trying to pull together the perfect outdoor concert/music festival look for last Saturday’s country night at Lansing’s Common Ground Festival.
I stopped by Retail Therapy and picked up this light, boxy linen top and the lace up sandals..and then I wore something entirely different for the concert only to realize Sunday morning that my Sunday outfit was much more on point then what I actually wore.
The Look
For the concert, I thought the long-sleeved linen top would have been too hot and the new sandals aren’t yet broken in, so I did make the right functional choice, but damn if this outfit wasn’t the better style for an outdoor concert!
Instead I wore it for a day of errands and stopping back at Retail Therapy to photograph a couple new arrivals..and then I took an hour long nap in it on the couch before taking off my shorts and watching movies by myself. Sort of a great outfit wasted, but I’ll be re-wearing it this week!
It would’ve been a no-brainer to wear this with a graphic tee, but I loved the idea of making it a little softer and more feminine with the ruffled linen top. I added my favorite denim shorts, round sunglasses and a vintage Chanel bag that I always forget is in my closet. A bag like this is perfect for an outdoor concert or festival–you can be hands-free and still fit the essentials.
Linen Tanks + Tops
Linen is the best fabric when the heat hits–it’s light and breathable! I love these linen tank tops, especially the white and black striped one! Tuck into denim shorts, add a crossbody and sandals, and you’re ready for a festival. This front tie linen top would be perfect for any occasion this summer as it can be styled with shorts, a high waist skirt or pants.
My Favorite Denim Shorts
I’m wearing one of my favorite pairs of denim shorts by AGOLDE., the parker vintage short! Everyone on the internet seems to die and now I’ve jumped on the bandwagon. I love them because they fit so well and don’t squeeze my thighs! They fit true to size, wearing a size 27.
For a more affordable option, I love these American Eagle shorts (longer style and fit amazingly, AND they’re on sale.) I bought size 6 online and they it perfectly. I also love all these American Eagle midi shorts (AKA your ass won’t hang out in these.)
Lace Up Shoes to Shop
I love the Trippen shoes I’m wearing here from Retail Therapy and wanted to share a few more options at different price points.
If you’re shopping for a pair of sandals under $50, these $35 gladiator sandals comes in black and nude. These $49.99 black sandals are by Eurosoft, a brand that I love for their instant comfort! The perfect sandal for walking around outside for long periods of time.
