I kicked off last weekend with a visit from my parents–the first time I believe the two of them ever visited together just for fun. Not because I was moving or moving large pieces of furniture, just because!
I planned a loose itinerary including breakfast at my house to show my stepdad my house, a visit to Tom’s Western Store in Ovid followed by a quick stop in Owosso for a latte at Foster Coffee Co. After that, we visited Horrocks Farm Market where my parents were in their heaven with meats, cheeses and baked goods. I bought a loaf of garlic cheese bread and resisted the caramel covered apples. After that, we went to my stepdad’s favorite restaurant: Cracker Barrel.
Matt joined us for the day and snapped these photos quickly while we were in downtown Owosso. You’ll notice my fly is down in ALL of the photos too. Just another day in my life exposing my underwear to strangers.
The Best Winter Accessory: A Blanket Scarf
I love a big scarf– the bigger, the chunkier, the better.ย And I styled this outfit around the scarf since it’s such a fun color/texture that acts as that statement piece my winter wardrobe so desperately needed. I spotted it on Elodie Boutique‘s Instagram and just had to have it, plus they have a ton more in different colors and prints they can ship (just $25.) I styled it with a striped sweater, jeans and a leather jacket.
If you’re like me and prefer wearing black, grey and other neutral colors, an oversized colorful scarf is the best way to brighten up a look or change it up. If you’re on the hunt for a solid color chunky scarf, this Free People scarf is cold weather and travel approved. It’s one of those scarves you’d want to nap with and it comes in many colors. And I like this lighter version that comes in camel or rose, more versatile and useful beyond the dead of winter!

Ok, I LOVE your scarf. And your hilarious honesty LOL because having a fly down all day is something that would 10000% happen to me, too! Thanks for your realness ๐
