The second day in Nashville was 30 degrees versus the 60 degrees it was the day before, brr! I layered on a rust colored sweater and a sherpa jacket for another day of exploring the city with Matt. Luckily for us, we’re used to 30 degree weather and a light dusting of snow didn’t slow us down.
I first brought Matt to Barista Parlor for coffee on Sunday morning since I knew he’d appreciate the auto shop aesthetic (and a good coffee.) We spent a lot of time in East Nashville since our airbnb was located in the Lockeland Springs neighborhood of East Nashville. Read on for a few ideas and recommendations for East Nashville spots to check out!
East Nashville Favorites
East Nashville has a lot of great things going on without being bombarded with too many tourists (like myself.) We stayed in Lockeland Springs neighborhood of East Nashville and while we ventured out too many areas, we preferred East Nashville.
Below are some ideas to hit up when you visit East Nashville:
Lockeland Table: Wood-fired pizza and other great entrees, and it’s just nestled inside of what’s mostly a residential area.
Cafe Roze: The pretty pink cafe offers up delicious coffee beverages and one hell of a breakfast, plus it’s Instagram worthy.
Urban Cowboy Public House: A beautiful bar/restaurant inside this bed and breakfast, plus outdoor seating with fire pits if you’re brave enough!
Barista Parlor: Great coffee with locations throughout Nashville, but I believe this is the original location (and lots of free parking.)
Jeni’s Ice Cream: These are sprinkled throughout town and I encourage everyone to eat the ice cream as often as you can whenever you pass a neighborhood with a Jeni’s in it. The best. The almond brittle ice cream is my current fave!
Five Daughters Bakery: These donuts are just incredible. A mix of a donut and croissant, the buttery layers and fun flavors make these irresistible even when I tell myself no donuts when I’m in town!
Stay Golden: Great savory and sweet breakfast/brunch choices and delicious coffee, plus it has a beautiful interior.
Five Points Pizza: If you’re looking for a quick slice and a beer, look no further. This pizza is the bomb and so are the garlic knots–I highly recommend both!
