As much as I love to style and wear anything black, I have soft spot for pink. I live for the pink stripe in the top, these cute little espadrilles and even the salmon pink building in the background in a few of the shots.
I occasionally can get behind a soft, sweet and playful look like this–a little outside what I might normally style when the silhouettes are within my comfort zone. Cue the billowing layers, my fave! Luckily for me, a few of these things I love like a billowy top and wideleg denim appear to be right on trend with the next season.
Fall Trends I Dig
I’m not normally ahead of trends, but I will say that I’ve been well ahead of the tying up the shirt thing for years now AND along for the burgeoning wideleg pant trend as well.
I got these pants on clearance from Retail Therapy three years ago now and they’re still a closet staple despite the elastic at the waist that makes it almost impossible to pull up over my thighs. This style is more of a cropped denim pant while the ones I’ve been eyeing lately are wideleg jeans (and probably much easier to pull on and off.) Madewell has a few great pairs like these and these. I love the wash on both and the cropped silhouettes!
Billowy tops and dresses are also a trend I’ll continue to sport into fall. I was drawn to this one because of the color and boxy shape. I appreciate how a boxy top lays and appears so effortless and easy. And I like these pants paired with a fitted top–and the boxy top with skinny jeans, but this combination reads more breezy and fall transition to me.
Of course, I kept a bit of summer in with this look with the pink espadrilles. I can’t help myself! I haven’t worn these enough this summer so I’ll wear these for as long as I can until my feet get cold.

Taylor Swift goes for a sophisticated shade of bronde (a color that falls in between brown and blonde).
