Last week I had another trip back to my hometown for a few appointments and since I had a workout/event that evening in Grand Rapids at FLEXcity Fitness, I styled something comfortable for the ride to Muskegon and something that could easily transition to a workout class.
A Pop of Color
We’ve had such a pretty fall in Michigan this year and suddenly I blinked and it looks like winter with bare trees and grey skies. Already depressing. And so I’m wearing a little color to brighten it up. I snagged this shearling bomber jacket from Le Fleur a couple weekends ago and didn’t know how I was going to style it–but it worked perfectly with this athleisure look paired with matching pink sneakers.
One of the bloggers, Nicole, at the workout event was wearing this super cute fleece pullover from J Crew and now I need it too, plus it’s 30% off and available in fun colors. I’ve also been eyeing this Zella bomber jacket too! I love it in grey!
Workout Updates
2018 was my year for fitness. By the beginning of the year, I told myself I had to get back on track. The holidays are always hard for me (zero self-control) and last year going through a break up at the same time made it all the tougher to stay focused on my own health. I got back on track working out more on my own in the beginning of the year lifting weights and taking personal training sessions at FLEX.
I’ve really noticed a big difference in my upper body strength this year, especially this fall after I participated in a challenge through FLEXcity Fitness–I worked out at Flex four days a week, ate better and mixed in other workouts at Conquest and Barre Code East Lansing.
I don’t really weigh myself or get concerned with the number since I want more muscle. Last week at the gyno they weighed me though and I came in at 132 pounds which sounds fine to me. If you would’ve asked me about that number a couple years ago I would’ve been so upset. Everyone I see on TV or movies who are 5’4″ are always 120 pounds and super slim, but that ain’t me!
I’m hoping 2019 is even more focused on health and fitness–and will keep you posted on my next steps as I’m working on integrating myself more into the fitness community.

Love the muted pink of your jacket. It’s a great way to add colour to a fall outfit! 🙂
Also, good job on your fitness journey. Wish I could say I did just as well as you have this year! 😛
