Styling a Tricky Sandal
The gladiator sandal may be tricky to style, but there’s a perfect version for everyone. For me, I prefer a shorter gladiator that’s still bold in black leather, but wearable for everyday. I love this particular style by Harley Davidson Footwear because it’s the perfect mix of edgy and effortless. I balanced out the shoe with a black bohemian tunic, cut off shorts and a grey hat.
Keep on reading for a few variables to keep in mind when you’re shopping for the perfect gladiator sandal:
Lace Up Length
Gladiator sandals range from knee high to ankle. You can choose a height depending on the level of statement you’re looking to make: the higher you go, the more bolder the look. A knee-high gladiator like this would be perfectly styled with a mini dress or more casual with cut offs. A shorter, minimalist version could be styled with virtually any look with ease.
Color
These sandals are available in virtually any color you desire, making it easy to try out the style more subtly likeย in nude or blush suede like these babies on sale. Or you can be bold and snag these half off.
Heel Height
The height of the heel or platform can change up the look drastically. I’m obsessed with this gladiator inspired chunky platform sandalย and these wedges on sale. These both add a little height without being too over the top.

I can’t wear gladiator sandals for the life of me – like you said, they’re hard to style! But you do it very well!
