My friends Merl and Karyn and her mustached fiance, Mike opened Market Supply Co. just last week in the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago. In their brick and mortar shop, the powers of Dethrose Vintage, Clyde’s Rebirth and MidNorth Mercantile combine to bring you vintage men and women’s clothing and accessories and Merl’s eco-friendly jewelry designs.
The shop is cozy and inviting with so much natural light spilling in from the front windows and the back glass doors.
Merl’s studio may be in the back, but her designs are sprinkled throughout the store like this bracelet.
The cash wrap is even pretty, with the wood and repurposed window..oh and even a mini awning I just noticed in this picture.
Just past the cash wrap is Mike’s barber area, complete with an old-school chair, deer head and other cool decor. It makes me want to sit and ask for a face shave with a straight razor. God knows I need it. Damn chin hair.
Behind Mike’s barber area is Merl’s oasis filled with creepy cat knick knacks and stock of vintage pieces that Merl will work her magic into creating into something new and beautiful.
Here, Merl is creating my custom necklace. She’ll have hours at the shop Thursdays and Saturdays to help you design your own custom piece.
