I love a pretty summer dress on special occasions, but you can usually find me in workout basics all season long. I love the versatility and comfort of the basics and how it mixes and matches well with cardigans, sweatshirts, light jacket and even flannels. Here are my go-to pieces to wear and some statement pieces to mix in:
Everyday Comfy Basics
I’m pretty sure I mention this Beyond Yoga tank in every other outfit post, but I love it. It’s so soft, has a built in bra and pulls double duty as my workout tank and my everyday tank that I wear to work and on weekends. You’ll need a bra with this tank but love this one (my friend Emily has this and ordering one now for myself.)
These Zella bike shorts are so good too. They’re comfortable and under $50. I’m wearing small and they’re a little too tight, wish I had them in medium (bought these a few years ago when I was at least 10 pounds lighter.) These Target cross front bike shorts are cute too.
I wear these joggers and these joggers on repeat too. Since I’m inside a lot and air conditioning is blasting, I find myself reaching for these more than anything else.
Statement Clothing & Accessories to Spice Up Your Basic Fit
I bought this oversized flannel from Retail Therapy and throw it on basically any of my workout outfits for an effortless vibe. This Free People flannel is great too! This too!
Denim jackets are also a must-have. Shop this one that I have and love and this boxy cropped version!
This 47 Brand Detroit Tigers hat is another staple in my closet that covers up bad hair days and keeps my scalp from getting burnt from the sun.
Dad sandals are still a huge yes for me. I got these Chanel babies last year, but these and these are great options.
Sunglasses also completely change a look. These Amazon sunglasses are my favorite (just re-purchased them for like $15 since I lost my last pair) and these Bottega Veneta dupes and these vintage style sunnies.
