I just updated my closet with my spring and summer clothes–and what a surprise–it’s a mix of white, creams and tans–all neutrals that mix and match well with each other. Read on for my tips for wearing creamy neutrals this season and what to shop:
How to Style the Whites/Creams
I love mixing and matching varying creamy tones–not being too matchy with all white or all cream. And I love adding a little edge like I did in this styling adding the black velcro sandals. This outfit would look equally cute with a pair of tan quilted sandals, but I like the unexpected bit of edge with this shoe choice–and who doesn’t love a comfy shoe trend? Try it with Teva sandals (just $15 and so comfortable!)
I was recently asked what color are the best undergarments to wear with light colors and you should always shop for neutrals closest to your skin tone so that it blends with your skin–not white–that doesn’t blend in with your skin and will call attention to your underwear/bra choice! Can’t go wrong with the Skims bandeau or triangle bralette (I own these and they’re so comfortable, comes in many neutral tones to match skin and great quality.)
Bottoms to Shop
I love a wide leg or straight leg white jean–a little more modern than a white skinny jean like the Levi’s wedgie jean in white (love these but they run small so size up. Also love their crop jeans in white.) And these DL1961 Patti high rise jeans that I just ordered for myself yesterday (and love the Hepburn wide legs too.)
I’m also eyeing the SLVRLAKE cream beatnik jeans and Farrah shorts.
For similar pants to the ones I’m wearing, check these H&M pants out (these are Mango and bought last fall but the H&M pair is the closest I found that resembles them.) Check these shorts out too, perfect for summer.
Creamy and White Tops
Minimal tops and tanks by Amanda Uprichard–especially love the Dorothy tank. Classic!
Pretty obsessed with this $13 crop top and this dolman sleeve top from Express.
My top I’m wearing is by Lotus Eaters from Retail Therapy (just one left there now!)
A button down linen top is an essential for summer. I have a similar version from Free People and wear with denim cut offs on repeat! This boxy style too is great!
Accessories and Shoes
I’m wearing the Lack of Color rancher hat here (I have in three colors), but I’ve added this Palma hat to my cart. It’s the one I wanted last summer that was pretty much sold out the rest of the year and screams summer vibes.
For sunglasses, I chose a bright gold pair for this outfit–this Le Specs Hercules sunglasses have been attached to my head since buying them last month. My favorite pair and the price is right.
And the bag I’m wearing is the Saint Laurent Kaia bag (size small.) Love this bag, bought it on a whim last summer and a classic style to wear forever. This Chloe bag is a better price and similar style or Madewell’s transport u saddle bag is on sale for $103 right now.
For sandals, I love a dad sandal/velcro sandal. These are Chanel that were sourced from Front Row Live (I message her on Instagram!) But I love these Tevas, and these $95 versions that look almost identical to mine.
