River City Mrkt

I was a social butterfly last Saturday starting with yoga at a new studio and then shopping at River City Mrkt, a local pop up shop created by local creatives Debbie (pictured above) and Amalia. I always want this shit to happen in Lansing, but I’ve never made the effort to pull it together, but these two created something truly amazing–bringing artists and vendors from across the state, from jewelry designers to florists to hand illustrated stationary, it featured a wide range of goods to shop.

The pop up was hosted at the AA Creative Corridor in Reo Town, a cool venue used for yoga, art galleries and more.

I’m a huge fan of Have Company and was ecstatic to see them there. My friend Alison introduced me to the shop last fall and it’s where my love for P.F. Candle Co began. I bought an essential oil spray, meant for the home and I find myself dousing myself in it as well. I was introduced to another Grand Rapids vendor, Overgrowth Floral. I love their aesthetic and bought myself a bouquet wrapped in paper and yarn, and it’s still very much alive placed in a vase in my dining room!

I myself have no beard, but I took particular interest in this booth because I’m a huge supporter of beards. Burton & Levy create metal beard combs and the packaging and combs are beautiful. I met Jason, the owner of the company, and he was such a cool dude! I tested out a beard comb on the fur at his booth.
